Geeta Cottage began as a private holiday home, and that feeling of being welcomed into a home — not checked into a hotel — is what we protect most carefully.
Geeta Cottage was originally conceived and built as a private family retreat — a place to escape the city, reconnect with nature, and experience the magic of the Kumaon Himalayas. Village Talli-Toli in Jalna, Almora was chosen for one simple reason: it has some of the finest unobstructed views of the Himalayan peaks in the entire region.
Over the years, friends, extended family, and guests who visited kept asking: "Can we bring our family here too?" That response led us to open the doors of Geeta Cottage to the world — while keeping everything that made it special: the warmth, the simplicity, the pure vegetarian kitchen, and the absolute respect for the mountains that surround us.
We are not a hotel chain. We don't have a marketing department or a corporate strategy. We have a kitchen, a team of people who have been with us for years, and a genuine love for this land. That is what you experience when you stay with us.
Three values guide every decision we make at Geeta Cottage — from how we cook to how we welcome you.
We don't create a superficial luxury setting. We share the real Uttarakhand — its culture, history, food, and people. We believe true travelers seek authenticity, not performance.
Simple, healthy, hearty vegetarian meals. Clean rooms. Mountain air. This is enough. We don't add things that don't belong here — and we don't pretend the mountains need decoration.
Respect for the land, for the local community, for our guests, and for the mountains themselves. We operate with gratitude for being stewards of one of India's most beautiful regions.
